What people who keep saying that JLaw “tries too hard” fail to acknowledge is that for the first time ever, we have here a celebrity who doesn’t contradict herself. She’s not the first actress ever to say that “you have to be yourself etc.”, but she’s actually the first one to put her words into action. I love lots of other actresses but there is nothing more frustrating than hearing them saying “be yourself” when they’re doing everything they can to appear perfect all. the. time.
Jennifer is different because her actions actually follow her words. She’s not the first famous person to tell me it’s okay to like hamburgers and TV nights better than salad and nights out, but she’s the first one to actually show it to me.
And as someone who will never fit into society’s standards of perfection, who drops things on the floor seventeen times an hour, who would wear sweatpants all day long if she could and who can’t help being a huge dolt, it means a LOT to have an internationally acclaimed actress showing me that those things are beautiful because they’re what makes me who I am. She truly is my role model.
Not to mention that she’s super talented and that you can’t take that away from her no matter how much you hate and rage.
